Overcoming Life’s Great Mountains

This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty. What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground.

Climbing Mt. Korobaba a few weeks ago, left me contemplating how we often struggle with life’s so called ‘great mountains’. At times during the hike I felt like giving up, I couldn’t help but draw parallels from life. I mean, what do you do when life deals you a tough hand like rejection, defeat, unfairness – when you find yourself praying that things like death, cancer and war won’t happen to you and yours. To come to terms with the fact that there are times when we have to say goodbye to the ones we love the most, shed a tear out of frustration and just cry “WHY?”
