A prayer

We pray for those who suffer because of their experience of grief, for those who have lost someone they love and have no one to share it with and for those whose hearts are heavy and aching and there seems to be no one who understands, for those who are finding it hard to cope with their sadness and sorrow and those overwhelmed with their grief.

We pray for those who suffer because of the actions of others: for those whose lives are damaged through someone’s neglect or whose future plans are wrecked by someone’s thoughtlessness.

May they know that the powerful arms of God are always around them.

Ascend the hill

This hill, though high, I covet to ascend;
The difficulty will not me offend,
For I perceive the way to life lies here:
Come, pluck up, heart, let’s neither faint nor fear!
Better, though difficult, the right way to go,
Than wrong, though easy, where the end is woe.
-John Bunyan

I read this gem on my friend, Rob Weyreter’s bedroom wall.
